Science Fair Update:
Science Fair presentations and log books are due this Friday 27th June. This is to allow time for each student to present their work to the class before the whole school Science Fair on Wednesday 2 July.
Each student is expected to present a board and a log book(inquiry folder).
The log book should contain:
· Research with important information that is relevant to the topic – highlighted and notes made indicating how this research explains the science behind the student’s question/topic.
· Timeline or evidence of time management.
· Draft of Introduction, Aim, Hypothesis, Method, Results and Conclusion.
· Within the Method and Results – identify the variables and show how to conduct a fair test.
· Within the Conclusion – state how the results show scientific principles or concepts. Link science concepts from the research to the results from the student’s science testing.
The Presentation Board should contain:
· Published work including Title, an Introduction (where did you get the idea from and why have you chosen this topic), Aim, Hypothesis, Method, Results, Conclusion.
· It may also have photos and/or graphs to help explain the investigation.
