A familiar object was floating around in the water- a crocodile! "No!" My friend said "Its a log!" "Crocodile!" "Log!" "Crocodile!" "Log!" I have to prove this one way or another 'I know!' I'll throw a rock at it, It doesn't budge. I poke it with a stick, it doesn't budge. I splash it with water, it doesn't budge My friend is now certain its a log so I clime on top of it... owwwww I'm swirling down and down until I see is darkness... Reading
I feel more confident reading hard text and I have a better understanding of what i’m reading but l need to read a variety of books Writing I have improved my re-crafting and l can explain what i’m writing about well. l need to use a bigger range of sentences Maths l have really improved my problem solving but l think l should work on my number knowledge ASPIRE I have a purpose for my aspire but l need to gather more research and have better time management. Social I have made lots of new friends at Balmac this year and I think l work well in groups.l need to be more organised goals *time management/organisation *fitness, get better at running *faster basic facts ARMCHAIR WRITING It stood in front of me, with big hoof-like legs sitting squarely in the middle of the dusty room. It smelt like just picked lavender crisp in the air. It had a fluffy round tail and an army hat, I had to blink to see past the bright light and l saw a curly moustache beneath its small nose. As I look down onto the chair legs the sudden burst of colour made me feel dizzy, I had to sit down. As I sat down I could feel its huge teeth stab into my back like knives into butter. I saw ears towering above me as the light went dim… The Blue Otter
By Saoirse I woke up feeling cold as ice. All I could see was the yellow light glowing inside my tent. What is happening!? Then I remembered everything, why I'm on this camping trip and how I'm supposed to find a Blue Otter in a week and my life depended on it!!! As I step out of my tent I feel an icy breeze going down my spine , why didn’t l bring warmer clothes. l can see the mountains towering down upon me. As l start my search l wonder how long l can survive and how far am l from home but no time for thinking, I have a Blue Otter to find! I keep walking until my feet feel like they’re freezing off, and I see some amazing things… Wait!, where’s my tent!? OH NO OH NO OH NO! Something just rose out of the horizon, straight into my view. But what is it? OMG it’s a bear! I start running and it runs after me! I start to scream and it copies me. OHNO it’s a bear call, not a scream!!! I run for my life and finally see the tent. I run and run. I really need to move! I am trying to pack up my tent but the wind hits it like a whip and it goes flying. I just keep running, I can see dark, spooky figures in the distance. Wait, those figures look suspiciously like my bosses! (The ones who want me to find the Blue Otter) And it looks like they're laughing when l get there l ask “why are you laughing?“they don’t answer, they laugh harder. l just stand there waiting for them to explain. Then one of them finally says “ we knew you would believe us when we told you about the blue otter so we set something up so we could see how you would react“ l feel the anger inside me l can hear the bears behind me and l think of aevil plan to get back at my ex bosses the plan is in action l say “come here” trying not to laugh “NOW!” l yell to myself as l pull a lever and hide. A net appears under my ex bosses they are trapped the bears are getting closer l can feel the excitement burning up inside me as the bears approach my ex bosses angrily my ex bosses scream their heads off! When they got out of the net they were cantankerous! And l said thats what you call payback!!! Kayaking
I felt nervous as I yelled “jump Sarah and I’ll jump after you.” As Sarah turned and slipped out of the kayak I wondered if i could actually jump in. But Sarah was technically in the water so I yelled out to Madi… 1, 2, 3, Jump! Madi and I both jumped into the water on cue, as I jumped into the water I felt pricks of cold enter my body. I looked up and saw the kayak capsizing beside us. I could hear Sarah saying she was cold, so Madi and I hoisted her up on top of the upside down kayak and gave her the paddles. Madi and I held on so Sarah could paddle us back to the dock. Once it was all over I was hungry and cold, I was glad it was lunchtime. The end.By Saoirse Benn. |
