This week we need to look at using our character descriptions to create a movie script. We will need to read some plays to gain an understanding of how we can write our movie script.

Here are some movie write tips:
- The first few pages of your movie script are critical.
- ACTION, ACTION, ACTION !
- Write your story in 3 acts.
- Act One: This is the set-up for the story. Introduce the world and the characters. Set the tone of the story. Begin exploring the conflict that will drive the story.
- Act Two: This is the main portion of the story.
- Act Three: The story reaches its resolution. The third act contains the twist of the story.
- The first Act has several functions. It establishes who your main characters are, the setting, the time period, the theme and mood.
- It is important to remember a movie is visual story. You don't tell your audience your story, you SHOW them. Write what they will SEE and what they will HEAR.
- CONFLICT: This is the heart of the drama. One character wants something and people and things keep getting in the way of them achieving the goal.
- Dialogue: Dialogue should be focused on moving the story forward and developing characters. There should be a good balance of dialogue and action. (Action does not necessarily mean gun fights and car chases. It means the characters are doing something.)
- Read your dialogue aloud. Does it sound halting, stereotyped, or over-the-top? Do all your characters talk the same way?
- Revise and re-craft your work as many times as necessary.
