Tent Description
Vast quantities of snow covered the rocky terrain. Frosty dragons breath seeps out of my mouth, being whisked away by the gelid wind. Snow caped peaks rise high in the distance. Feeling exhilarated by the loneliness and wonder of way up high, I look down on the magnificent sparkling lakes. The sun reflecting off their deep azure colour, blinding me by the reflection. Mountains reflected deep inside them like an under-water wonderland.
My flimsy tent droops at the weight of the icicles rhythmically dripping. It wouldn’t stand a chance in any natural disaters let alone the coldness at night. It dawns on me that only the caw of the kea that I am alone facing this unknown stretch of polar landscape.
Glossy smooth grey rocks carefully crafted over the years. Distant snow clouds wander over, their packages nearly ready to untie. As I watching the clouds saunter over, I snapped to attention and piled all my gear inside the tent only to plonk back and watch the clouds ambling again. Not that my tent was going to do much.
Reality soon kicked in anything was possible blizzards, avalanches frostbite was inevitable.
