Harrison’s crisp breath warmed his hands. His fragile body lent against the derelict power pole. The isolated forest loomed up ahead, surreptitiously creeping it’s way to him. The trees whispered in his ear, dark secrets nobody should ever know. Glistening amber eyes peered out of the shadows, they already knew too much. The cackling of the fiery city lights alerted him of the dangers beyond the forest entrance.
Large lustrous eyes waited in the distance, beggingly looking into Harrison’s eyes willing him to follow. The cats bulging teeth nibbled away on the empty tranquility as the moonlight swallowed the cities fluorescent sounds. Nervousness swallowed him, the small specs glistening brighter, mesmerised by them, Harrison crept forward keeping eye contact the whole time. They seemed to be leading him closer to the forest. Rapturously he followed, eager to see who/what those radiant eyes belonged to. Casting a disdainful look, watching the blurred shadows linger across the pursed lips of Harrison. A precipitous change occurred and all the muffled noises hushed abruptly, his huge eyes widened eager to see what happened. The pleasant earthy smell of forest was rapidly replaced with a repulsive stench of decaying flesh.
